As an introduction, we offer you 4 types of suits which we explain in greater detail throughout the post:

  1. Ready-made suit or Ready to Wear
  2. Made to Order Suit
  3. Made to Measure Suit
  4. Bespoke Suit

1. READY TO WEAR (RTW) SUIT

WHAT DOES IT CONSIST OF AND WHAT SUIT OPTIONS DO YOU HAVE IN STORE?

Collection of suits made with 100% Super S110 wool fabrics from the Italian company Vitale Barberis Canónico; made with a pattern calibrated and perfected by our team of pattern makers. In this case, it would be the shoulders of each client that define the appropriate size for each one; that is, we would try on the client - once the suit model was selected - different sizes and we would advise him on the one that would fit him perfectly around the shoulders. Once the correct size was chosen, the garment would be adjusted to the client's body measurements so that it would fit perfectly.

These are garments with very high quality finishes, such as our notched and spear-point lapels, interlined and non-fused interiors, practicable buttonholes, among many other details that will not go unnoticed.

As an important additional detail to emphasize, any arrangements and repairs required are included in the price and we do them in our own workshop, we do not outsource .

We have suit models in both 2-piece format (€495.95) and 3-piece format ( €595.95).

You can see some of our suit models at the following link: Ready-made Suits .
IMPORTANT: We have more models in store that are not available on the website.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO GO TO OLD JEFFREY IF I CHOOSE THIS TYPE OF SUIT?

If this is the option chosen, we would recommend coming to Old Jeffrey at least 2 weeks in advance, as once we have adjusted the garment in store, it will take us approximately 1 week to work on it.

After the week of adjustments, we will call you to try on the suit. If any additional adjustments are required due to the appearance of small wrinkles and in order to "fine-tune" the garment, we will need another week to make the garment perfect.

For this type of suit, a single fitting is usually enough, however, we always recommend coming to see us with that extra time in case any additional adjustments are needed.

2. MADE TO ORDER (MTO) SUIT

WHAT IS IT?

In this case, we want to introduce a New intermediate service between tailoring and custom-made clothing and we think it might be interesting.

That is, starting from the pattern of our ready-made suits, we offer the option of making a new suit from scratch by selecting the fabric, as well as influencing some details of the design of the garment. This service is ideal for:

  1. Customers who are suitable for our tailoring pattern but who are still looking to choose the fabric with which they would like to make their new suit.
  2. Customers with a significant size difference between their jacket and trousers. In this case, they may request that the jacket and trousers be made separately and in the appropriate size.

The case study of this process would be as follows:

  1. Pattern test and size detection . We would call you to our tailor shop to try on our pattern and, based on this, we would detect your size, separately, for the jacket, pants and vest. Based on this sizing, we would define the adjustments to be made to the pattern and, based on these, we would make a new suit from scratch for you.
  2. Fabric selection . In this case, the fabric would determine the final price of the suit. In this case, we have a large number of fabric references in store.

WHAT MADE TO ORDER SUIT OPTIONS DO YOU HAVE AND WHAT IS THE PRICE?

There are endless options! As for the price of made-to-order suits, and as we have had the opportunity to comment in the previous point, it would be approximately €800 for the 2-piece suit and €1,050 for the 3-piece suit.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO GO TO OLD JEFFREY IF I CHOOSE THIS TYPE OF SUIT?

If this option is chosen, we would recommend coming to Old Jeffrey 2 months in advance, as it would take 5 weeks to make the garment from scratch and, once made, we would arrange an appointment with you at Old Jeffrey to try it on. There is the possibility of shortening the time depending on each case and under specific requests - in this case, you would have the opportunity to discuss this directly with our tailoring team.

In any case, we recommend, whenever possible, organizing the process at least 2 months in advance in order to ensure a smoother journey and, above all, to enjoy the process.

Once the garment is made, we would use the first fitting to detect any wrinkles or, on the contrary, if the garment was perfect. If any adjustments were required due to the appearance of small wrinkles and in order to "fine-tune" the garment, we would need a week to carry out the adjustments.

Typically, one "round" of adjustments will almost always be sufficient, however, we always recommend coming to see us with that extra time in case any additional adjustments are needed.

3. MADE TO MEASURE (MTM) SUIT

We are moving forward with our Made to Measure tailoring service, where our tailors will take measurements with the help of a suit called a "witness" which we have digitized on our central computer and we will proceed to make the anatomical modifications, modifying that base pattern so that it becomes the exclusive pattern for our client.

In this type of suit, absolutely everything can be customized, the shape and width of the lapels, the model of the pockets, the model of the pants and vest, in addition to choosing all the trimmings, such as the lining, the terry cloth, the buttons and the thread with which said buttons are sewn, as well as embroidering the initials on the inside of the jacket.

WHAT MTM SUIT OPTIONS DO I HAVE AND WHAT IS THE PRICE?

There are endless options! As for the price of made-to-measure suits, and as we have had the opportunity to comment in the previous point, it would be approximately €1,100 for the 2-piece suit and €1,450 for the 3-piece suit.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO GO TO OLD JEFFREY IF I CHOOSE THIS TYPE OF SUIT?

Same as I brought Made to Order (MTO).

4. BESPOKE SUIT

As a final step, we are proud to have our Bespoke tailoring line, also known as Handcrafted Tailoring .

In this case, our tailors would take anatomical measurements directly from the client and design the suit with the purest details of traditional bespoke tailoring, that is, hand-made buttonholes and perforations, fully interlined interior without any type of glue or fusion, cupro or viscose linings, plain or printed, etc.

For this type of tailoring we require at least 3 months to have the garments finished since, once we take the measurements, we will manually design the client's pattern in our workshop and, subsequently, we will carry out the manual cutting of the garment.

After the cutting process, the pieces will be assembled using basting and loose stitches and a first test will be done, which we call "plumbing"; at this point, we will have the skeleton of the garment - sleeveless in the case of the frock coat and unfinished lengths and widths in the case of the trousers and vest.

Once the "fit" test has been carried out, it is our turn: we will work in the workshop in order to correct details, add the sleeves and finish making the garment.

The customer would then be called in for a second "fine-tuning" fitting and, if there were any additional small details to be corrected, a third final fitting would be done before delivering the perfect garment to the customer.

WHAT BESPOKE SUIT OPTIONS DO I HAVE AND WHAT IS THE PRICE?

In this particular case we work with a prior budget that will be evaluated and notified to the client after the information appointment in which he/she tells us what design and tailoring requirements he/she is looking for. In any case, the price for this type of garment starts at €3000 for the 2-piece format and €3800 for the 3-piece format.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MADE TO MEASURE AND BESPOKE SERVICE ?

The difference between both methodologies lies mainly in the tailoring process after taking the client's measurements; we explain this below.

  1. Pattern creation after taking the client's measurements . In the case of Made to Measure tailoring, to obtain the client's pattern, we use samples with a base pattern against which we make corrections and obtain the client's final pattern. On the other hand, in the Bespoke tailoring service, the measurements are taken directly and the pattern is obtained manually and is carried out by means of calculations and generation of curvatures based on tailor's rules.

  2. Fabric cutting . For Made to Measure tailoring, the pattern obtained for each client is digitalized and the fabric scrap chosen for making the garment is cut very precisely by a cutting machine. On the contrary, in the Bespoke service, our tailor will cut the garment manually with special tailor's scissors for this purpose.

  3. Garment assembly . In the case of Made To Measure tailoring, our sewing team is made up of 10 people who will carry out the final making of the garment. For this case, each member of the team will specialize in a part of the garment (sleeves, front, etc.) and, finally, the garment is assembled together. In this process, the sewing will be carried out in a mixed way, that is, long stitches with a sewing machine and details finished by hand. On the other hand, in the case of Bespoke tailoring, the entire making will be carried out manually by our specialized tailor.
